September Scoutmaster Update

Good afternoon Families and Scouts! It has been an absolutely GREAT summer of Scouting! Very proud and very impressed by our Scout's efforts and accomplishments. Below are a few important updates for the coming month.
Schedule: For ease of scheduling, we've created a one page schedule we are sending home with each Scout. It'll make an amazing addition to your refrigerator or your family bulletin board! Scouts - make sure you are giving it to your parents! I'll upload it to the documents section of the website soon.
A few important dates in September: 2nd: Patrol Leader's Council Meeting (aka PLC). All Patrol Leaders or their designees 9th: Troop Meeting. Fundraiser forms distributed! 12th: Fundraising begins 15th: Join Night for Pack 85 at Prairie Elementary. Scout volunteers needed! 16th: Troop Committee Meeting. All leaders and adult volunteers welcome! 23rd: Troop Meeting and Parent Info Night (see details below) 30th: Troop fun night! Details to follow after the PLC meeting.
Troop Roster: We are actively updating and consolidating our Troop Roster in order to communicate better with everyone. I will be asking all parents and Scouts for updated contact information when I see you.
Website: Along with the roster, we are streamlining our communication and event information to our great website built by Mr. Ribbich. Please watch for emails which will send automatically when events are updated or when news is posted. The site allows you to easily RSVP to meetings and events and pay for campouts. So easy! We will begin to rely on these RSVP's to plan our events and activities. Please take a moment to reply to each meeting and event.
September 23rd Parent Meeting & Info Night: We are asking all parents and guardians to attend an informational night and enjoy fellowship with your extended Scout family. We'll begin gathering at the normal time of 6:30pm at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church and begin a few presentations on schedule, health forms, website, payments and Scout accounts, fundraising and other important topics. Please bring a snack to share.
Upcoming Campouts: Scouts! Time to register for camping! October 9-11: Fall Camp-O-Ree Merit Badge Weekend. See Mr. Stanich for a form to select your merit badges. Hurry! Choices are filling up fast. November 6-8: Creep-O-Ree! This is an all fun, Halloween themed Scout Weekend of activities and great food at Camp Long Lake. All you have to do is let us know you want to attend and get your favorite costume ready to go! Oh, and by the way, there's a dance in the chow hall on Saturday night!
